Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is a plan being implemented by the DoD to deal with the vast and complex data accumulated in modern warfare. It will involve all the military services and includes complex details on how to implement the strategy across all domains. Last month, Air Force Lt. Gen. Mary O’Brien was selected to take over as the director for Command, Control, Communications, and Computers/Cyber and Chief Information Officer, J-6.
O’Brien graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry before receiving her commission. Her leadership positions
included the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force Legislative Liaison, Headquarters U.S. Air Force and Air Force Space Command, and the U.S. Cyber Command Director of Intelligence. Additionally, she served as Commander of the Service Cryptologic Component and current Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Cyber Effects Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
Lt. Gen O’Brien will be instrumental in the shaping and implementation of JADC2 as it moves forward. To learn more about JADC2, check out our previous blog post here.
