#MakeShipHappen: The Navy’s Latest Efforts in DEVSECOPS

April 6, 2021 | Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is an essential part of the modernization efforts in all areas of the United States Military. In furthering those efforts, the United States Navy has been developing a DevSecOps initiative known as Black Pearl.

Black Peal is a platform with a set of secure coding tools and products for Navy coders. The purpose of the platform is to put security at the forefront of its digital operations and shorten the delivery cycle of modernization efforts. This includes DSO Transformation, Agile Development, Lean Management, App Modernization, Prototyping, and Continuous ATO.

Black Pearl’s inception began on July 1, 2020 with the goal of launching within 100 days. They partnered with Platform One and jointly got to work. Black Pearl officially launched in September of 2020, a mere 75 days after inception.
