Tamara North is defined as a strategic thinker, gifted in the ability to look across the entire Navy enterprise to build a coalition, a person that is ready, willing, and able to solve difficult problems. These are decidedly sought-after qualities within the military at large and most certainly coveted at her current position as the Director for Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) West, in San Diego, CA. As Director, Ms. North is highly qualified and responsible for manning, training, equipping, and maintaining readiness of Information Warfare forces across Pacific Fleet. As the senior member of the NAVIFOR West staff, she represents the NAVIFOR Commander across a broad range of information warfare issues supporting West Coast commands, both ashore and afloat.
Ms. North has over 30 years of service to the Navy, including several notable active-duty tours and holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems Management. Her resume and achievements are remarkable. Before her current position, Ms. North was the C5I Readiness Officer at NAVIFOR West for over two years. There she implemented and matured the Information Warfare Readiness Continuum (IWRC) to include formal adoption by United States Fleet Forces Command, implementing the requirement across the entire Navy. Before that she served over nine years at PEO C4I where she was Assistant Program Manager for multiple programs.
Ms. North is also a Certified Executive Career Coach, and hosts and produces her own podcast.
