C4ISR Symposium History

AFCEA International is a nonprofit organization that fosters an exchange of knowledge and exploration of issues affecting its members in information technology, communications, and electronics in the defense, national security, and intelligence communities. Since 2015, the San Diego Chapter of AFCEA International has hosted its annual C4ISR Symposium to look at issues in Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).


Previous Symposiums included many different themes and topics that are prominent in C4ISR. In 2018, the Symposium focused on C4ISR in a Coalition Environment. The following year, the Symposium consisted of panels on topics like artificial intelligence, DevSecOps, Quantum Computing, and the Future of Cyber Warfare. In 2020, The theme continued with a focus on artificial intelligence, including several panels on machine learning in C4 Networks, Cyber, ISR, Space, and Expeditionary Warfare. Now, the 2021 Symposium’s theme is Cybersecurity-DevSecOps: Transforming Application Development and Delivery to the Tactical Edge.


This year’s symposium is set to take place later this week, Thursday, October 28th and Friday, October 29that the Handlery Hotel in San Diego, California.
