Job Description:

We are seeking a System Administrator Manager to join our growing team for an upcoming management, operation and maintenance contract based out of Wahiawa, Hawaii. 

​

As a System Administrator Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of system administrators that directly support administration, security, and maintenance of the Information Systems (IS) located at multiple geographically separated facilities which consist of Naval and Teleport Information Systems, NETCENTRIC IP Suites using Windows, Linux, and Solaris Operating Systems.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform user and systems administration and maintenance for all locations

  • Review, test and apply IAVM patches to all Information Systems

  • Review and update security, software, user and system profiles for all Information Systems

  • Perform Information System hardware and software maintenance

  • Perform user and administrator account maintenance

  • Initiate, update, track and complete work orders for Information System

  • Coordinate with external entities for troubleshooting, analysis and repair of Information Systems and Provide customer  support

  • Ensure the servers/clients are backed up, and that the server/client data is secure from unauthorized access

  • Perform basic programming and/or scripting

  • Upgrade and/or configuring software, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards, project or operational requirements as well as performing ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization

  • Create, change, reset passwords for and deleting user accounts

  • Configure or add new services ·Answering technical queries and dealing with often frustrated users

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, review logs, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities to ensure system security is up to date ·Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions

  • Develop and/or maintain installation, operation and configuration procedures and documentation

  • Maintain software libraries and hardware inventories

  • Perform preventative maintenance on system hardware/software in accordance with the Information Assurance Integrated Maintenance Plan

  • Update Anti-virus definitions, backup system audit logs and crypto logs and clean/vacuum filters and exterior surfaces of systems

  • Perform physical security duties for both interior and exterior of the buildings

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Pre-employment drug screening

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

  • Must be minimally IAT Level II certified with appropriate baseline security and operating system/computer environment (OS/CE) certification in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M and SECNAV-M 5239.2)

  • Obtain EKMS 301 certification within 30 days of hire

  • Obtain 3M 301 Maintenance PQS within 90 days of hire

  • Relevant experience in managing team of system administrators responsible for a server farm, local area network and a large-scale network which includes both local and remote equipment administration responsibilities

  • Experience in repairing and recovering from hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies and next higher-level maintenance, installing, maintaining, rebuilding and/or upgrading servers and/or clients

  • Understand the IAVM process and be able to apply IAVA/IAVB patches and reporting to the proper external entity of IAVA/IAVB completion

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs a distance of 50 feet horizontally and 35 lbs vertically a distance of 50 feet without resting

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
