Job Description:

​

We are seeking a Specialty Engineer to join our growing team for an Engineering contract based out of Sterling, Virginia.

​

As a Specialty Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, safety, usability, cost certainty, constructability, deliverability and lifecycle of the products.

​

The Specialty Engineer will follow the System Engineer Technical Review (SETR) Process to provide a rigorous and structured means of evaluating the progress of the technical development portion of system acquisition. SETR reviews enable independent assessments throughout the program’s life cycle of engineering technical review categories such as:

  • System Requirements, Traceability and Design

  • Test, Evaluation, and Certification of Product

  • Project Management and Execution (Planning, Assessment and Control, including Logistics, Training and Sustainment)

We are looking to fill multiple positions at the Mid-level.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply deep domain knowledge in specialty areas of engineering in order to deliver systems that meet functional requirements and are cost-effective to manufacture, test, repair, maintain, train, operate, and dispose of. 

  • Research, design, develop and support systems and processes that provide for the efficient and effective production of complex products or solutions. 

  • Develop systems that are suitable for the cognitive, physical, and sensory abilities of the intended users, and develop systems that improve survivability.

  • Design interfaces, diagnostics, and modular systems.

  • Perform quality and testing activities: Failure Mode Effects Analysis; Failure Reporting and Corrective Actions; and hazard analysis.

  • Provide inspection, testing, and analysis support as well as develop new system designs and analyze highly complex problems. 

  • Conduct studies to determine the most efficient sequence of equipment, operations, and workflow within a production facility or to determine how product or solution characteristics contribute to effective and efficient manufacturing techniques. 

  • Evaluate cost factors and recommend methods for economic utilization of production facilities and personnel. 

  • Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects, including logistics (RMA), quality engineering, and manufacturing engineering.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Pre-employment drug screening

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

  • Minimum Experience:

    • Mid – 3 years

      • Performs all functional duties independently

​

Required Education:

  • BA/BS in a related field
